In this second of two DVDs Stanton demonstrates how to blend contemporary ideas such as simple sticking, linear drumming and the combination of other styles with the traditional Second Line to create a new approach to New Orleans drumming. He shares his ideas on how to bring character to a groove by paying attention to details and adding inflection while staying true to the underlying rhythmic structure. Also included is Stanton's personal approach to incorporating Mambo, Guaguanco, Shuffle, Boogaloo Bossa-nova and Samba with Second Line drumming to add a modern and progressive flair to his playing.
