As recorded by the Oliver Nelson Orchestra, 'Heidi' is the 3rd movement of the Impressions of Berlin suite. A gorgeous solo feature for alto saxophone throughout, this piece builds from a quiet beginning to a very powerful point (a 'Bolero' type of tension as the piece develops) before it diminishes to a quiet ending. The 'pro' version includes flute doubles, wider brass ranges, and a lengthier solo (a la Nelson's recording). Extra parts have been included for alternative solo players.
