Descripción de la:
Patience, or Bunthorne's Bride, is a satirical spoof on Aesthetic poets and their followers. It revolves around two rival poets, Reginald Bunthorne and Archibald Grosvenor. Bunthorne lives in a castle with his family and enjoys adding up his receipts. Grosvenor, on the other hand, is an idyllic poet and 'true' aesthetic, who despises money. Conflict arises when both try to woo the same woman, who has neither money nor social standing; in the end, Grosvenor abandons his appearance of aestheticism. This is the Schirmer Edition of the Vocal Score and contains all the dialogue.
With music and book by the famous collaborators Arthur Sullivan and W. S. Gilbert, available here is an authentic version of the Vocal Score to the fabulous opera Patience, as edited by Edmond W. Rickett.
This score also contains all the dialogue from the Opera, as well as the music and songs with piano reduction.
