Olga Neuwirths Streichquartett, entstanden 2009, ist eine Hommage an den US-amerikanischen Künstler Henry Darger und dessen erst posthum entdecktes, reich illustriertes gleichnamiges Buchmanuskript. Diese Überfülle von Ideen bindet Neuwirth in kurzen, schlaglichtartig kontrastierenden Sätzen, in denen sich fragile Texturen überlagern. Neuwirths dritte Auseinandersetzung mit der Gattung Streichquartett wurde 2010 vom Arditti Quartet in Paris uraufgeführt.
