These three canons are very well suited to introduce or conclude a ceremony, a concert in the church, a school concert or a recital. You can easily perform two canons in a row with a very short break or even one at the beginning, two at the end of the event.

They can be performed in a variety of ways:

1st voice 2nd voice 3rd voice
choir choir choir choir
or choir choir instruments
or choir instruments choir
or instruments instruments instruments

Due to the fact that the notes for the instruments are included in all common tunings, there is the greatest possible freedom in the instrumentation of the instruments. The only important thing is that all three voices are well-balanced, i.e. that one part does not stand out in particular. If a choir sings along, the choir should definitely begin, so that the text is better understood.

Of course, the canons are also intended for the training of young musicians, to practice independence, secure counting and interaction. The leader benefits from the fact that from three players upwards to the extended band everything can first be played through in unison until 'it sits' and not some have to wait idly until the others master their voices.

It is recommended to play through the canon first once by all voices (if a choir is involved, possibly by the choir alone), then let the first voice begin and continue the canon until the third voice has played through (sung) the canon at least twice, possibly three times. The ending is indicated by fermatas in the notes. The fermatas have no other meaning! They are only to remind the player or singer: here is possibly my final note!
A collaboration with a youth choir cannot be recommended enough.
