Every life is important. Every child is important. This Missa Brevis is for all people, both young and old, that are experiencing hurt and searching for relief. Our actions have the ability to transform the world and make a difference in the lives around us. May we comfort all those experiencing pain and loss. Ubi caritas et amor Deus ibi est. Where there is Charity and Love, God is there. And God will wipe away every tear. This five-movement work can be performed with piano accompaniment or with string quartet, piano, oboe, percussion, and handbells. Although the work is listed as SSA(A), the composer writes the multi-divisi in singable ostinato-type patterns, making the composition accessible for developing voices.
