Instead of a typical majestic ending, Arnesen here has aimed for a quiet conclusion to a large work, bringing only the unaccompanied choir into play. As the composer notes, 'the message often seems stronger this way and makes us listen more carefully.' The text is from a hymn by Marty Haugen, ending with the words: Let us bring an end to fear and danger: all are welcome in this place. (Let us bring an end to fruit and danger: All are welcome in this place). Silence and serenity permeate this short piece, which is suitable for intermediate-level choirs.
