When English composers of the Romantic period write motets about texts of praise and thanksgiving, then you can certainly look forward to anthemic music that is also inspiring in this country. This is also the case in this festive praise motet by the London composer Joseph Barnby: the lively, easy-to-sing choral movement is carried by a "palatable" organ accompaniment, which puts singers and listeners alike in a festive mood. Due to the universal statement (praise of the Creator, verses from Ps. 103 and 104), the work can be used in many ways in the liturgical year. With German and English text.
