Descripción de la:
This volume in The Best Of series for guitar has a selection of 26 pieces by the Spanish composer and guitarist Emilio Pujol. It includes some famous compositions - such as his El abejorro study, his poignant Canto de otoño dedicated to his dead brother and his Trois Morceaux espagnols , an appreciation of the Spanish classical guitar repertoire - and other lesser known pieces begging to be rediscovered. The contents are organised in 3 genres, reflecting the nature of Pujol's guitar works: his romantic pieces (influenced by Tárrega, his much beloved maestro), those of a Spanish character (indeed, Pujol is rightly deemed the modern successor to Albéniz and Granados) and his studies (which also numbered several concert studies). Pujol is an important figure, well worth studying not just for teaching purposes, but also for his musicological studies into the origins of the Spanish repertoire for the early guitar and vihuela.
