Descripción de la:
The unsteady life of the Belgian Vieuxtemps anticipated the European idea like hardly any other in the 19th century. The best example is the Élégie composed in 1848: it was written in St. Petersburg, experienced its greatest successes in Paris, was printed in Offenbach am Main and enthusiastically reviewed in London. Even then, the expressive contrasts and the Bravura-style coda, which was 'as elegant as it is brilliant', were particularly praised. After the Sonata op. 36 (HN577), the Élégie op. 30 is another viola work by Vieuxtemps that appears for the first time in an Urtext edition. Once again Tabea Zimmermann could be won for the line markings, the preface is by the expert Marie Cornaz.
