Descripción de la:
Lalo dedicated his Symphonie Espagnole to the great violinist Pablo de Sarasate, with whom he had been friends for a long time and to whom he had already dedicated his first violin concerto. The premiere - arranged by the dedicatee - was an outstanding success, as the work combines sparkling virtuosity with Spanish coloring and touching melodies of an occasionally sad and melancholy character. Today, the five-movement violin concerto is an integral part of the soloist repertoire. Our new edition is based on the score published in Paris in 1875 and the composer's piano reduction as well as the accompanying solo part. The piano reduction has been thoroughly revised by Heiko Stralendorff on the basis of the score and made more practice-oriented and pianistic. The separate solo part in our edition follows the detailed solo violin part included with the composer's piano reduction. The fingerings and bowing symbols in the violin part are by Tomislav Butorac, but Lalo's original phrasing has always been taken into account.
