This elementary instruction for the soprano recorder owes its widespread use to its methodically well thought-out structure, which is adapted to the child's perceptive faculty. It begins in volume 1 with simple well-known songs and progresses in careful learning steps until the student can play small pieces of old masters. In volume 2, the authors aimed not only to perfect playing skills but also to convey basic knowledge of general music theory in an easily understandable way. In addition to the two volumes for the soprano recorder (Volume 1: ED 2661 / Volume 2: ED 4245), there is also a 'School for the alto recorder for the beginning' (ED6351) and several supplementary books for making music together in small ensembles, also with Orff instruments.
