Excellent easy arrangements of well-known traditional songs for recorder quartet
Playing together in a recorder quartet for the first time is a wonderful experience. Finding suitable pieces is, however, not easy. Beginners should have the chance to play in an ensemble while the advanced players on the larger instruments (alto, tenor and bass recorder) also need to be challenged.
This was the inspiration for Theo Warttmann - to create a series of excellent arrangements of well-known traditional songs for recorder quartet. They were grouped according to the four seasons, and in 1981, Universal Edition published four volumes with spring, summer, autumn and winter songs as well as a book dedicated to Christmas carols. More than 30 years later these pieces are still a treasure trove for those who play and teach the recorder. They are suitable for concerts, celebrations and any other events.
This newly published volume features a selection of the best spring, summer and autumn songs (UE 36725). The second volume, published in July 2016, presents the winter songs and Christmas carols (UE 36726).Whilst the first edition focussed especially on the lyrics and the inclusion of all the verses, this new edition retains most of the words to the songs and the beautiful drawings from the original edition.
> A treasure trove for those who play and teach the recorder - suitable for concerts, celebrations and any other events
> Retains most of the words to the songs and beautiful drawings from the famous German painter Ludwig Richter
