This classic of the swing era was arranged by Bernd Frank in such a way that you could almost imagine a whole big band playing the song. The arrangement is ideal for ensembles whose players have already gained some experience but are not yet very advanced. It can be played with either 4 or 5 saxophones in different instrumentations:
satb, aatb, saab, aaab, sattb, aattb, saatb, aaatb. Solo passages for the first and third voice.
The arrangement will sound most authentic with a classic big band saxophone setting (aattb). It is particularly suitable for groups that are dealing with swing and triplet eighth notes for the first time.
Notes in C tuning for C-melody saxophone are also included for the second, third and fourth parts. The fourth part is optional and does not have to be played.
