Making music in small ensembles is the most original form of brass music and is currently gaining more and more importance. In an ensemble, musicians can work on important skills such as intonation and interplay, and express their joy of playing in direct contact with the audience.
The RUNDELs Kleine Blasmusik series offers fascinating possibilities for wind groups who want to play traditional wind music such as marches, polkas, or waltzes in small ensembles.
Traditional wind music for entertainment and dancing has been played with woodwinds even before the introduction of valves for brass instruments (early 19th century). So the woodwind section today, with its enormous range and its varied, mellow timbre, is virtually predestined to dedicate itself interpretatively to this valuable cultural asset.
The concept woodwind quintet + allows an expansion of the five-part basic instrumentation with a 6th voice for clarinet, alto clarinet, alto clarinet and alto clarinet. Voice for clarinet, alto clarinet, alto saxophone, a percussion and accordion / guitar as well as accompanying parts for clarinet, alto and tenor saxophone, trombone, tenor horn or French horn.
In addition to a clear particell, the sheet music edition contains an extensive set of parts and transposed parts. Thus, many creative and individual instrumentation variations can be designed.
