Descripción de la:
Maurice Ravel (1875-1937) was in addition to Claude Debussy, the most important composer of French impressionism. The term impressionism can be translated as 'artistic impression', first used in painting and later in music.
Ravel wrote many works related to Spanish music. The most famous is perhaps Bolero (1928), a masterpiece and a study of instrumentation.
To the conductor
The entire work is built around a huge crescendo. Therefore be accurate with the dynamics and work with balance through the entire piece so that the volume increases steadily. To shorten the Bolero from fifteen to four and a half minutes while retaining the almost hypnotic effect of the work is a challenge. This arrangement provides at least an introduction to Ravel's unique orchestral music.
