Lighting: Laurent Schneegans - 'At the heart of the show, the music, the text and the emotion is a voice. Or rather, a woman searching for her lost voice, her identity. Singing to rediscover singing and regain a place in the world of men. In four tableaux - in a taxi, at a cafe, in her bed, on a walk in the country -, this woman gets into trouble with her voice, as if her voice no longer coincided with her, with her body; as if she no longer formed one body with her voice. The fifth and final tableau brings about a recovery, reuniting the fragments. In the crucible of the monodrama, the music, carried by 15 instruments, and the text's sensitive writing merge and burst forth in the throat of this woman who is revealed in her humanity, nakedness and sensuality. Des petales dans la bouche (Petals in the Mouth) does more than relate or describe: with words and sounds; it makes the sensitive part of ourselves vibrate, that part accompanying us since childhood - the fascination for singing that reconciles us with others and ourselves.'
