The title of this piece refers to the musicologist and musician Åke Edenstrand (1939-2013), in whose memory Jerker Johansson has composed and dedicated this calm and meditative piece played at the funeral in February 2013. Åke Edenstrand had a background as E flat cornetist in Karsdraget, a student orchestra in Stockholm, and for many years he was a celebrated jazz pianist with different bands. He also studied music history and did extensive archive research. His knowledge about the theatre music in Stockholm and the development of the Swedish military music is probably unsurpassed. For a very long period he was therefore hired by the Swedish Defence Music to write initiated comments about all the music recorded by their bands.
