Hjalmar Fredrik Modeer (1908-1959) is a well-known composer from Sweden. He is one of the greatest Swedish composers of marches for band, writing more than 20 during his service for the military music. He was active as musician and conductor professionally from 1942-1957 and it was probably during this period he wrote one of his best marches; Gardeskamrater.
