Descripción de la:
Erich Wolfgang Korngold (1897-1957) was an Austrian-born composer and conductor. In 1920 Korngold composed 'Die tote Stadt', an opera in three acts to a libretto by Paul Schott, a collective pseudonym for the composer and his father, Julius Korngold. The opera is based on the 1892 novel 'Bruges-la-Morte' by Georges Rodenbach. In the first act of the opera, the main characters Paul and Marietta sing the duet 'Glück das mir verblieb'. This duet became immense popular as a concert aria where a soprano sings both parts. Dutch arranger transcribed this wonderful aria for soprano with accompaniment of a Symphonic Band.
