Descripción de la:
Jules Levy ( 1838-1903) was a British American cornet player, teacher, and composer. Born in London, England, he reportedly began his study of the cornet with only its mouthpiece; his family could not afford the instrument itself. After immigrating to the United States, he began a significant musical career as a cornet soloist and was billed as 'The World's Greatest Cornetist'. Although Levy mainly gained fame as a cornet player, in his younger years he also composed many works and some of these can still be found in the concert programs. 'The Grand Russian Fantasy', theme and variations for Trumpet and Orchestra was written in 1880. Gregor Kovacic transcribed this work for Trumpet and a modern Symphonic Band.
