Descripción de la:
Into a New Decade was written on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of 'MuZarKo', the concert band of the music academy of Merksem, Belgium. The work consists of three movements and is orchestrated in such a way that each group of instruments is given a sufficiently challenging performance. Soloistic passages alternate with grand tutti passages and rhythmic sections with challenging time signatures alternate with heartfelt melodic sections. Part 1: Facing the Past. This rhythmic section with challenging time signatures reminds the orchestra of the past 10 years of its existence. In the 'Presto Furioso' section, it is advisable not to play the accents too heavily for the sake of playability and transparency in relation to the feel of the time signature. Part 2: Nostalgia. In this part, the band looks back on the beautiful moments it has already experienced in its existence. This part starts with a melodious solo between vibraphone, crotales and glockenspiel. The solo is taken over further in the piece by the oboe and trumpet and may be interpreted very expressively. The 'un poco tumultuoso' section may also be very expressive, although the balance must certainly be guarded here in function of the transparency. Part 3: Towards the Future. With a march as the final movement, the band has set its sights on the future, on what is yet to come. The future looks bright but it is not easy to see. Therefore, with 'With a little wink to the past...' we go back to the past where the themes of part 1 and part 2 are briefly revisited before ending in a grand finale, the Finale. The piano and or harp parts are optional and may be omitted. Should a digital piano or keyboard with harp sound be available, it is recommended that the harp part be chosen over the piano part.
