The film 'As in Heaven' is about the famous conductor Daniel Dareus, who returns to his native Swedish village to recover physically and mentally from a heart attack. He takes over the village's church choir and is confronted with the joys and sorrows of the motley choir members. With his commitment and his music he manages to help the people and himself finds new meaning and deep joy in his life again. A large part of his new courage to face life is contributed by the pretty, cheerful Lena, with whom Daniel enters into a tender love affair. He composes a song for her about how she freed him from his fears and heavy thoughts.
The emotional film about the power of music, love and life touched millions of people worldwide.
'Lena's Song' and 'Gabriella's Sang' are the two most successful songs from Stefan Nilsson's soundtrack. In his wind band arrangement, German composer Thiemo Kraas beautifully captures the special atmosphere and life-affirming message of 'Lena's Song'.
