Descripción de la:
As part of the Year 2023 dedicated to Swiss wind band literature, the Swiss Wind Band Association commissioned Gauthier Dupertuis to write a new orchestration of Stephan Jaeggi's Overture in E flat major. However, the interpretation of this work with modern orchestras required an update of the instrumentation.
The orchestration proposed by Gauthier Dupertuis, who wanted to remain faithful to the original while conforming to current idiomatic standards, will allow current orchestras to interpret this piece of classical-romantic inspiration.
Stephan Jaeggi was a composer and conductor, born in 1903 in Fulenbach (Canton of Solothurn) to a large family. He began playing the clarinet at the age of 13, studied music at the Basel Conservatory, and completed military music recruit school. After graduating, he was the conductor of several wind orchestras. In this, but also in the role as a composer, Stephan Jaeggi was able to celebrate many successes. His early death in 1957 brought an early end to Stephan Jaeggi's creative life. All the more his work lives on with unbroken power until today.
