Buckley, recently retired as Conductor of the United States Coast Guard Band, is also well known as a composer, arranger, and trumpet performer. In Sandburg Reflections, he has created intriguingly subtle and whimsical settings of several of Sandburg's poems for mezzo-soprano and wind ensemble, a much needed addition to our wind band repertoire.
