Tango Surprise' is based on a true story: Years ago, a promising young trumpet player lived in Vienna. No one was surprised by his incredible playing, because on the one hand Vienna is the city of music and on the other hand he came from a talented family, because his father and mother as well as all his siblings were great musicians. However, the young trumpeter was not satisfied with himself, because he always wanted to prove that he was superior to his whole family: he played not only before the rehearsals, but of course also during the breaks, and of course he had to play in for quite a long time before the concerts. But this was still not enough for him, because during the rehearsals and concerts he always played many ornaments of his part and often took over the voice of his neighbor. He inevitably had to play the last note of a piece an octave higher than it was intended. The conductors and his colleagues were annoyed because of his behavior, but they did not want to remove him from the orchestra because of his family. One fine day, however, the measure was full, they took away his trumpet and gave him a 'cuckoo pipe' instead, because he certainly can do 'nothing stupid' with it ... It soon became clear that this idea was far more than just a mistake: on the occasion of a concert in the beautiful Viennese forest, where a beautiful romantic overture was on the program, he namely proved to everyone what you can do with a cuckoo pipe. If you listen to the 'Tango Surprise' to this, it is obvious what escapades he allowed himself. It was thus clear that the young trumpeter had not yet developed the necessary maturity for his position at that time, and he was finally dismissed, although 'thrown out' would be the more appropriate expression. He then emigrated to Canada, married a capable woman and later even became solo trumpet player in one of the best orchestras in the world ... And when he has to prove once again what he is made of, his wife is right there ... and she then plays the cuckoo whistle for a very short time!
