God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen is a famous and popular Christmas carol. This arrangement is presented in two very different ways. One section is a slow and mysterious with a steady ostinato and melody in the clarinets above while the other section is an upbeat swing with a walking bass line, jazz harmonies and backgrounds. Both brass and the woodwinds get opportunities with melody in the swing section.
