Descripción de la:
Orchestration:
Strings (Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola, Cello, Bass)
NOW COMES BEAUTY was originally composed in the Summer of 2009 as a song (to my own words) for solo voice and piano, which I also then arranged for unaccompanied mixed voice choir. It is essentially a 'song of farewell' to an idyllic, though sometime solitary life on the beautiful island of Mallorca, where I lived from 2004 to 2009; the ending of a long relationship and the need to move on in a new direction. Death and re-birth if you like; painful, lost, but accepting and open at the same time.
This arrangement for string orchestra was made at the request of Jason Thornton who conducted the first performance with Bath Phil at a concert given in the magnificent chapel of Bath's Prior Park College, on the 19th December, 2009.
A PACK comprises one full score and string parts 4/4/3/4/2.
Duration about 5 minutes
