Descripción de la:
Cantata, next to opera, remains one of the most important musical genres in Moniuszko's work. Crimean Sonnets for mixed choir and orchestra, a work composed to words by Adam Mickiewicz, was written in the last period of the composer's life. The work, written in 1867 and premiered in Warsaw on February 16th in 1868, was not published in the form of a score during the composer's lifetime. This publication is a source-critical study based on several preserved manuscripts and autographs of the composer himself. The whole is accompanied by a scientific introduction, with the history and analysis of the work, and a detailed critical commentary with a description of the preserved sources.
