Orchestration:
(* = optional)
2 Flutes*, 3 Oboes, 2 Clarinets in Bb*, 2 Bassoons (%26 contra bassoon*)
3 Horns in F, 3 Trumpets in D or Bb, 2 Trombones*, Timpani, Side drum
Strings (Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola, Cello / Bass)
The scoring forthis 'open-air' work was 3 trumpet parts (with 3 players on each part), timpani (3 players), 3 horns (3 per part), 3 oboes (12 players on Oboe 1, 8 on 2, 4 on 3), 2 bassoons (8 players on 1, 4 on 2 plus a contra) and strings. No dynamic markings wer e given (would they have made any difference anyway?!). You can use this edition for an 'authentic' performance or you can include the optional instruments to enable everyone in the modern orchestra to join in. All of the movements have repeats or 'da capo's' marked or instructions such as 'played twice'. If you are providing background music for a firework display this may be good; if you are playing this in the concert hall, judicious deletion of some repeats may go down well with your audience!
Duration: 20 minutes
A PACK comprises one full score, string parts 4/4/3/4/2 and any wind, brass and percussion parts.
