Descripción de la:
Orchestration: Flute, Piccolo, 2 Oboes, 2 Clarinets in A or Bb, 2 Bassoons, 4 Horns in F, 2 Trumpets in Bb or C, 3 Trombones, Tuba, Timpani, Percussion (3 players: Snare Drum, Bass Drum, Triangle, Cymbals, Sleigh Bells)
Strings (Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola, Cello, Bass)
Known in English as The Skaters' Waltz, Les Patineurs was composed in 1882 and was inspired by the Cercle des Patineurs or 'Rink of Skaters' at the Bois de Boulogne in Paris. The opening bars can be likened to the poise of a skater and the glissando notes invoke scenes of a wintry atmosphere. The other themes that follow are graceful and swirling, as if to depict a ring of skaters in their glory. Sleigh bells in the centre section complete the winter scenery.
In this new Goodmusic edition, the rather confusing dal segno and da capo instructions in the original are clearly written out to avoid any players (or the condutor) slipping up!
A PACK comprises one full score, string parts 4/4/3/4/2 and all wind, brass and percussion parts.
Duration 9 minutes
