Descripción de la:
Oscar Borg (1851-1930) is the "king march music" of Norway. During his 50-year career as a military musician, he wrote and arranged some 440 pieces. He played violin, flute and cornet and conducted one of Norway's best-known military bands, known today as the Easter Region Band of the Norwegian Defense Forces. In addition, he was a choir and orchestra conductor and played the church organ. His role within military music was so great that the people of Halden (his hometown) decided to erect a statue to him after his death. Borg wrote no less than 60 marches, as well as works for choir and symphony orchestra. The march "Sangerfest" is certainly not his best known march, but definitely a small gem in his oeuvre.
