Carl Czerny (1791-1857) and William Gillock (1917-1993) unfortunately had no opportunity to get to know each other - they would certainly have had a lot to say to each other. Martina Schneider brings both together on the phone in her comic drawings across the pond. In a nutshell, the composers talk bilingually (don't worry - everything is translated!) about their true masterpieces, the musically appealing 'small' etudes and studies.
