Descripción de la:
ANBRUCH appeared from 1919 to 1937 and was the first magazine devoted solely to new music. Authors such as Bartók, Berg, Braunfels, Casella, Gál, Grosz, Krenek, Malipiero, Milhaud, Reznicek, Scherchen, Schönberg, Schreker, Strobel, Stuckenschmidt, Toch, Ullmann, Weill, Wellesz, Wiesengrund-Adorno, etc., soon made the magazine the most important medium of a controversial but very lively musical scene. The contents included reports and analyses by and about composers, the music business and performance practice. ANBRUCH is without doubt one of the most important musicological sources for the 20s and 30s of the twentieth century.
Coinciding with the 100th anniversary of Universal Edition, all 19 volumes of ANBRUCH are being published in facsimile on CD-ROM. Parallel to the CD, the UE website www.universaledition.com/anbruch provides a convenient search facility in the form of a free on-line index permitting easy access to information on some 3500 articles and their authors published over the 19 years of the magazine's existence. The articles themselves may be found as scanned texts in PDF format on the ANBRUCH CD-ROM, which can be obtained during the UE anniversary year of 2001 via music shops or the UE website.
The ANBRUCH CD-ROM of course also contains extensive information in small print relating to contemporary musical life and concerts, and the regularly placed and extremely informative advertisements from the music trade of the time. The CD-ROM is suitable both for PC (Windows) and Macintosh. ANBRUCH is available only in German.
