With this work the author shows the possibility of a personal approach to the Italian Frame Drum, opening his view to the most important musical styles among traditional and modern techniques and repertoire. The main purpose of this book is to give a method that effectively and efficiently develops the comprehension of the performing techniques, based on functional and natural movements. The historical and cultural analysis within the text helps to open up to the little known world of symbolism and expression of Folk music, giving an overview of the tradition's expressive solutions. This path, supported by a DVD, aims to realise of Frame Drums techniques through a non-wasteful and more practical approach, which also allows to extend the expressive possibilities of the instrument to the most varied musical worlds.
