The Mass op. 36 by Charles-Marie Widor in our arrangement for only one organ (BU 2277) has been firmly anchored in the repertoire of numerous church choirs for many years. When the Erfurt Cathedral Music was recently looking for a festive work for the joint music-making of the adults, children's and youth choirs for a high mass on the occasion of the inauguration of the new central console, the obvious idea came up to have the part of the 1-2-part baritone choir sung by the upper voice choirs. After the grandiose premiere of this arrangement in September 2023, the work is now open to all choirs looking for a festive ordinarium that can be performed by the SATB choir together with a choir of upper voices (children's, women's, youth choir). The powerful work will now also lead to an unforgettable experience for younger singers. With the audience anyway...
