Descripción de la:
Revised and significantly expanded new edition of the catalog of works by Georg Kinsky and Hans Halm
1955 appeared in the G. Henle Verlag with the Verzeichnis sämtlicher vollendeter Werke Ludwig van Beethoven by Georg Kinsky and Hans Halm, a milestone in Beethoven literature. Since then, Beethoven research has virtually exploded in many areas.
The new complete edition of the works is well advanced, and Beethoven's entire correspondence and conversation notebooks have been edited in excellent editions. In addition, there are groundbreaking works on Beethoven's creative process, which have changed our image of the composer. Reason enough to prepare this current state of research in a new standard work for a broad readership!
This new Beethoven Werkverzeichnis, which has grown to approximately 1,800 pages, facilitates individual access through a clear structure: the presentation of the historical aspects of each work - creation, publication, first performances, dedicatees, etc. - is followed in a second section by a description of the works. - This is followed in a second section by a description of the manuscripts and prints. For the first time, sketches of the work are also comprehensively listed among the autographs. The prints also include contemporary reprints and arrangements with information on where they were found.
The new Beethoven reference work ante portas!
Main part of the catalog in German, introduction in German and English.
